Had a string of bad luck recently with little to no memorable dreams. Last night was a good restart though.

April 24th.

-I was in a small doctor's office. It was completely empty save for doors on opposite sides of the room that were sealed tight and a weird cartoon statue about 6 feet tall near one door. It was very similar to Barney from the Simpsons. I looked towards this statue and all of a sudden everything froze over and the room turned into an ice land. The door broke off and I slipped out past the creepy statue and made my way outside. It was night time in the parking lot with a bunch of cars still there. On the side of the building was where I was going. I noticed I didn't have any shoes on, only socks and felt that I needed to go back and get them.

Before I could turn around and go back, I saw a pair of guys approach me and ask for help. I said sure and they explained that the doctor's office had some crazy paranormal activity and they needed to plant a device that would help them record any strange occurances there. We began to walk back to the office when one of the cars turned itself on and slowly reversed towards us. It wasn't going to stop. I jumped on top of a car to protect myself from getting run over while the other two guys grabbed two by fours and went on the defensive. The ghost car began to ram the car I was on and started pushing it around. I got really angry, flipped the car off and hurled a large rock through the back window.

That's it.

Apr 10th.

This was the end of a streak of good, clear dreams. 3 in a row.

-I was downtown Santa Cruz over by the street that runs perpendicular to the Cinema 9. The one with the artsy coffee house and the big red ball. Anyway, I was in an apartment that was very poorly taken care of. Parts of the wall were coming apart so you can see into the streets, the entire house was all dusty and covered with rotten planks of wood and the bathroom had a small bowl to do your business. I was so disgusted that I ran outside and went over to where I parked my car so I could get out of this place. Only, my car wasn't there. My car had been stolen and I was a nervous wreck.

So the only logical thing to do was have a big burrito at a local Mexican place that had a small shop on the other side of the street. (In the alley behind O'Neill's is where this shop would have been IRL.) I sat down on a stool in front of the window and ordered up. I forgot what I ordered, but before I got my food, the dream ended.

I felt quite a panic after finding out someone had stolen my car. Bastards.

-I was in a dark dungeon esque place with dark purple bricks and torchlights. It was dimly lit and it had a series of arched corridors and a huge underground lake. I was on a platform and noticed a single rail next to me. I then realized this was a rollercoaster ride. Sorta.

I saw my stepdad getting on a motorcycle type vehicle that was connected to this rail although he had tremendous difficulty getting it to stay on the rail. A few park employees were watching him. That's all I remember.

Before I end this entry, I'm still a little surprised by this...

A long time ago I had a dream in which I was in the same dungeon with the same rollercoaster only I was actually riding it through the small, creepy corridors and over the lake. I'm not sure the chances of having a reccuring object/sequence/scene, but it may have happened to me one or two times ever.

Intermission #7

Apr 7th.

Its hard to find the lucid technique that actually works consistently. Sure I've had a handful of moments so far. But I don't know how to make it easier.

One of my co-workers told me a secret from Carlos Castraneda's book "The Art of Dreaming" in which before you sleep, locate your hands. Feel where they are. It certainly makes sense because that last lucid sequence I remember looking at my hands realizing I was in a dream world.

Interesting, I haven't tried it but am more than willing.

Will post results. Eventually.

-I was hanging out with some friends. Didn't recognize any of them, but I somehow knew they were my friends. All of a sudden I realized I was late for school. I was then in my car, on the Fishhook, in super heavy traffic, with a crazy lightning storm and rain, in the dark.

As a admittance for anyone that doesn't know, I really don't like driving. I have the worst driver's anxiety ever. This very well could have been a nightmare.

I weaved in and out of traffic fearing for my grades and I also didn't want to get in an accident.
End.

Yea it was short but I remember the feeling I had being in the car. I was nervous and woke up breathing heavily. Stupid traffic.

Funny how the moment I say I will only write down the vivid dreams, I have two of those dreams that are worth recording in consecutive nights.

Apr 6th.

-I was in a huge apartment building that had been abandoned, yet there all kinds of dusty furniture and things scattered around. I walked down a hallway and found a dusty old room with clothing and stuff scattered around as if its been weeks since someone touched the place. Quickly after this, it had felt like I was in a video game as I was looking at a 2D vision of the hallway with a cartoon chicken as the character. Exactly like a side-scroller. I made the chicken walk left and eventually run until it came to the end with a steep drop. It jumped and began to fall. So now I'm inside the game world and I'm in an empty void with blotches of bright colors making up the void, yellow being the dominant color. Quite a trip. There were little platforms all around and a bigger platform containing a gas station/diner. Each of these platforms had it's own gravitational field adding for some weird effects to the chicken when it jumped from platform to platform.

(Picture Mario Galaxy, exactly like exploring the planetoids.)

I guess the world in itself was so memorable. Oh and also the dream was pretty insane and no I'm not on drugs.

Apr 5th.

-Space. The final frontier. I don't think I've ever had a dream in space, and this one was quite a winner IMO. Before we get to that though...

-I was at my old high school (UGHHH..) I was walking briskly around campus, noticing all the classrooms filled with high school students. The day was sunny and quiet. I made my way through the halls, over benches, just generally enjoying the day. Next I was in the gym and I guess that was the main focus of the dream, was to play basketball. There were 2 courts in this giant gym and a huge curtain divided the courts. I was playing by myself when a teacher came out and watched me play for a while. I got really nervous and ran off. That ended my dream.

Here's where it gets good. :D

-I started on a small platform suspended in space. There was no need for oxygen tanks or space suits or giant domes to encase the environment from the vacuum of space. I was there looking out into space, it was beautiful. It was dark but had a faint purple glow next to planets and stars. In order to move from platform to platform, you needed to throw a glowing, pink disk to your destination. The disk flew at high speeds and never changed its direction until it hit something. I threw it and it hit a planet that looked much like Saturn.

I was on a much larger platform that had beautiful apartments with extremely elegant architecture and pathways. I ran over a bridge with a man made creek running under it. (Don't ask how a river works on space platforms.) I saw many people walking around, enjoying life. I ran through a street, checking things out and decided to move to another platform. I found the edge of the platform and it had a long walkway to a transporter thing with the disks. I noticed that this place had gotten really quiet and creepy. I turned around and saw a woman run right past me and teleport away very quickly in a panic. I then ran towards the teleporter thinking I was in danger. I picked up a disk but found a note on the back which read, "Meet me in the courtyard." -John. I somehow knew it was my co-worker John. I ran as fast as I could to the courtyard and found it empty and dimly lit. I also found a guy in a suit looking for something. He also had a gun. I quickly ran opposite side of where he was looking and ducked behind a fence.

(During this next part I honestly couldn't tell if I had control, I am fairly sure I didn't but it seemed so real.)

I found myself sitting with back up against the building until I felt someone push lightly against my shoulder a couple times. I turned and saw the outline of a person kneeling next to me. (Think of the Predator's camouflage effect.) It was John and he had some cloaking device on. I could barely see him but he crept out a back alley and I quickly followed, watching to make sure the man in the suit doesn't see us. That's when the segment ended.

(Creepily similar segment.)

I was walking along a sidewalk in the early hours of the morning with Duff daddy and some unknown blonde woman. We walked down a side street to a dead end but in a field next to this dead end was a big flying saucer. To be more specific, it was my flying saucer. We walked down to it and I said goodbye to Duff daddy and this woman began crying and hugging me saying she didn't want me to go. I had to though for some reason. There was a long tube that lead up to the ship in which you needed to climb to get in.

I was inside the cockpit where there was a giant computer which had the name of my Mass Effect character, Tron. It had all of his statistics and armor/weapon profiles. That's when I woke up. Pretty cool series of dreams.

Intermission #6

Apr 5th.

I've decided to fine tune this whole dream thing. I still find it interesting reading about all my past dreams and have even had people help me along the way to become a lucid dreamer. Its hard. Really hard. I've had a handful in a few months.

But before this, I've NEVER had one in my entire life. I do realize the rewards and they are quite awesome. Waking up with a smile because of some crazy ass dream in which I knew I was dreaming.

I'm going to only write down the more vivid dreams (or the not so vivid ones that just blow my mind) I've found that If I wrote, "In my dream today I went to the ATM and got 30 dollars. The End." Who really cares? I doubt it'll affect my endeavors.

I've noticed that I have a decent dream maybe 1-3 times a week. I think that is a good amount to write about.
